Give your sweet tooth a treat with this classic baked egg custard. Its sweetness and creamy texture makes it the perfect after-dinner delight.

Ingredients Method
  • 3 Pace Farm eggs plus one egg yolk
  • Freshly grated nutmeg
  • 60g caster sugar
  • 450mL cream
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  1. Preheat oven to 170°C
  2. Lightly beat the whole eggs, yolk and vanilla extract ensuring no to make it too frothy.
  3. Place the cream in a pan with the sugar and stir to dissolve. Heat to just below boiling point. Pour this onto the eggs and stir until it is combined.
  4. Strain the mixture through a sieve into a 1L baking dish
  5. Place the dish in a roasting pan that is half-filled with hot water. Sprinkle with nutmeg
  6. Bake for approximately 30 to 35 minutes and serve hot, warm or chilled with jam, fresh fruits or on its own.
